Rosemary surrounded by some of her children, grands and great-grands

Tribute to My Mom, Rosemary

As many of you are aware, we brought my mom here from New Jersey due to a critical health issue that threatened her life, mobility, and safety. She settled in at Christian Care Manor IV in Mesa, where she was served compassionately for almost three years. Additional care was provided by Hospice of the West for her last year of life. We are more than grateful for the amazing team of individuals who loved her well.

In the early years of the ministry, my mother was a bit frightened about welcoming “strangers” into our home and wondered how it would affect her grandchildren (our four daughters). As she observed many young women coming and going from the ministry she actually came to appreciate the care we were providing. She even grew fond of some of our residents; she was affectionately referred to as, “Nani.” Caring for my mom these last three years was a challenge as well as an honor. Having her in close proximity helped her find her footing, spiritually and provided a place of comfort where several of her grands could visit and offer her joy in her last years.

The most important legacy she left was introducing us to a personal relationship with Jesus many years ago through a friend of hers.. Though her life remained rocky and uncertain in many ways, we found a sure foundation in Jesus Christ. Our life changed for eternity and we will always be grateful to my mother, Rosemary, for this priceless gift!

We are thankful that we are able to take this gift to the residents of her facility now! This living arrangement actually led to a door flinging open for Jesus Cares! During COVID, all of our assisted living outreaches abruptly came to a halt and never reopened. It was sad, as we know how desperately the elderly and those recuperating from surgery need support and spiritual strength. Surprisingly, Chaplain Don at Christian Care Manor IV, who officiated my mom’s memorial service, gave us an invitation to sing hymns and spiritual songs for the residents of the independent and assisted living facility. We visit with them and sing the 1st Tuesday of every month. Contact Doreen at 480 831 1737 and come join us, as we are able to let these precious souls know that…
